What a fabricator does in your shop

How fast can you place a fabricator in Metro Detroit?
Usually a vetted shortlist within days. We recruit from the same trades bench we have staffed welders and machine operators from for decades.
Do candidates set up their own press brake jobs?
We separate operators from setup hands during the screen. We confirm which brake they ran, whether they picked tooling and worked out the bend order themselves, and whether they can pull a flat pattern off a print.
Do your fabricators weld?
Most run MIG and can tack for fit-up. If the job needs finished weld quality to AWS standards rather than fab-and-tack, say so at intake and we screen against the welder standard instead.
Can you screen for CNC laser and plasma work?
Yes. We ask which control and nesting software they used, whether they loaded programs or wrote them, and how they handled material changeover, because a laser running the wrong offsets scraps a full sheet.
