What a quality control inspector does on your floor

Inspectors check parts against the print at receiving, in process, and before shipment. They read drawings and GD&T, measure with micrometers, calipers, and gauges, run first article inspections, and write up what fails so it can be contained instead of built into an assembly.

How fast can you place a quality control inspector in Metro Detroit?
Usually a vetted shortlist within days. We keep an active local network across inspection and metrology, so a search starts warm.
Do you test candidates on blueprint reading and GD&T?
Yes. We have them talk through a print, including datums and position callouts to ASME Y14.5. An inspector who cannot read GD&T will measure a feature correctly and still pass a part that is out of position.
Do your inspectors run CMM, or is that a different role?
Many are comfortable loading and running an existing routine in PC-DMIS or Calypso. If you need programming and fixturing rather than operating, that is our CMM quality technician role and we screen it differently.
Can candidates handle PPAP, control plans, and NCR documentation?
Yes. We screen the documentation side alongside the measuring: FAI records, control plan adherence, non-conformance write-ups, and the traceability an ISO 9001 or IATF 16949 audit asks for.
